Raconteur is the longest-aged release from Foursquare in collaboration with Velier.
The name pays homage to two great rum “raconteurs”: Luca himself and the late Stephen Remsberg, a renowned collector who passed away last December. This is also a Single Blended Rum, as is customary for Foursquare.
The rum is composed of a blend of copper double retort pot stills and traditional twin column coffey stills, before being placed in barrels. The result is a blend of two rums: single and double matured. The first was aged for 17 years in ex-bourbon barrels, while the second was initially aged for 5 years in ex-bourbon barrels, and then refined for another 12 years in an ex-Sherry Oloroso barrel.
