Licorice Root Infused Grappa The very name Glycyrrhiza Glabra, meaning “sweet root,” highlights the properties of this plant. Pier Andrea Mattioli, a 16th-century physician, reports that Licorice was used as a portentous medicine in ancient Egypt and quotes Theophrastus as saying, “The root chewed fresh not only quenches thirst, but delays hunger by preserving strength over and over again.Raw material: grape pomace from cuvées of vines typical of the area Distillation: artisanal, in small batches, using a copper still with steam cauldrons on a discontinuous cycle Aroma: fragrant of spices and tea leaf Taste: bittersweet, resinous and stimulating % alc – Content: 40% Alc./Vol – 500 ml Serving: in a tulip-shaped glass, at 10/15 °C.
