A protagonist of Massolino’s history, Vigna Rionda is one of the most sought-after and prestigious Cru in our area. We’re not just talking about microclimate and soil: something happens on that hill, and that something gives birth to the Vigna Rionda Reserve, a truly unique wine.
Traditional Barolo with long-lasting fermentation and maceration in oak vats at a temperature around 30°C; aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for up to 42 months, then aged for up to 24 additional months in the bottle.
The soil and microclimate of this hillside allow for exceptionally structured and complex wines. Traditional winemaking enhances the gifts of this Cru, respecting the natural predisposition to long aging while emphasizing the elegance and depth that only this vineyard can bestow.
