Whisky Single Malt “Benriach” 2013 – Wilson & Morgan

Bottled by Wilson & Morgan, this Benriach is a classic Speyside malt with a short finish of 12 months in 1st filling Pedro Ximenez barrels, just to add some nuances without betraying the original character of the spirit. It is immediately obvious that it has remained malty, compact, clean, flowery and rather dry as a whiskey from this distillery should be. It is definitely not sweet: on the contrary, it is surprisingly spicy from the start, even slightly astringent, with an appetizing profile. Distilled in 2013, bottled in 2021.
