It is produced from dried grapes 100% zibibbo (or Moscato d’Alessandria) grown between 20 and 400 meters above sea level, on sandy soils of lava origin arranged in terraces. The vines here are cultivated in basins according to the ancient system of the Pantelleria sapling, a practice inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List as creative and sustainable. The name Ben Rye derives from Arabic and translates as “son of the wind”, since the wind is a characteristic element of the island of Pantelleria.
