Twenty-five years ago, Robert Mondavi and Baron Philippe de Rothschild decided to combine the savoir-faire of Bordeaux with the magnificent terroir of California’s Nappa Valley. Thus was born Opus One, The Myth of California Wines. Composed mainly of Cabernet Sauvignon, the nose offers a very complex palette with aromas of black cherry and spices, caramel and cinnamon. The palate is an explosion of red and black fruits with a rare freshness. The tannins are fine and bring a real roundness accompanied by resounding length and regularity in the mouth. 98/100 Robert Parker .
