Jefferson Bitter comes from Calabria and was created from an ancient recipe devised in 1871 by a singular and fascinating character, Captain Jefferson, who survived shipwreck in the waters between Paola and Tropea and found refuge in the Old Customs Warehouse, where he had his epiphany: the use of a mix of botanical herbs and spices from that land to create the recipe for a unique and natural bitter. The freshness of the raw material, harvested in bloom and processed as it once was, results in the high quality of Jefferson Amaro, has in characteristic Calabrian citrus scent and expresses in all its complexity bitter notes accompanied by the elegant softness of vanilla .
