Chianti Classico DOCG Gran Selezione “Vigna del Sorbo” 2019 – Fontodi

Sophisticated, silky and elegant, Fontodi’s Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Vigna del Sorbo releases a lot of energy from the glass. Red berries, crushed river rocks, violet petals, spices, earthy notes and field grasses are just some of the aromas in this beautifully balanced wine. In the mouth it is taut, muscular and lively; fine-grained tannins and lots of flavor. This Sangiovese comes from 50-year-old vines grown in the Vigna del Sorbo locality, heading southwest; the grapes ferment for three weeks with natural yeasts in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, and the wine then matures for about 28 months in large barrels before bottling.
