The Distillery Edition, here in the 2023 version, is a blend of the marks most representative of the unique style of rums from Hampden Estate, a historic Jamaican distillery that’s been in operation since 1753. Located in the province of Trelawny, in the grand cru of Jamaican rum, it has been managed by the Hussey family since 2009. Hampden Estate is known for having the best plots of land in the country, with one of the highest yields per hectare. A unique rum is produced here, characterized by spring water, extended fermentation with wild yeasts, distillation in copper double retort pot stills, tropical aging, and no addition of sugar or additives.
Like the 2021 edition, these official bottlings represent a historic moment for the distilled spirits world, as this is a rum normally available for purchase only from the distillery, or for very rare editions outside the Jamaican market. The label echoes the design of the grand house, where these incredible rums have been produced for over three hundred years.
