Flagship of the Terlano winery, this Terlaner is part of the Rarity range of white wines aged for at least 10 months on fine lees inside pressurized steel tanks. What’s amazing is the wine’s freshness and youthfulness that this aging has given it a very special character.
The grapes are lightly crushed during a soft 30-minute pressing program and, after fermentation, the wine is left to mature for another 24 months in steel containers, but only on the fine lees.
This is a highly prized blend of Pinot Blanc, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, with its first vintage dating back to 1979. Bright straw yellow in color, the nose is surprising for its charming bouquet of complexity and exuberance of dried meadow flower, almond aromas and pleasant mineral, spicy notes envelop the nose. The palate is ready and waiting for a juicy, mineral and persistent tasting.
This is an ideal wine to be left in the cellar for a while, to enjoy its full charm a few years later. Its remarkable sensory profile makes it a wine perfect to pair with asparagus recipes, tomato-based pasta dishes or to be offered as an aperitif.
