Barbera, more than any other wine, is the farmer’s wine, a humble wine, deeply linked to the territory, which represents the blood of life for the people of Langa.
More complex than dolcetto, with a more robust body and with more extracts. Its robustness and acidity make it a lively and direct wine, with a typical character that gives it the land that makes it grow.
Barbera is certainly the most Piedmontese of all wines. The vine is present in many wine areas of the region: from Alba, to Asti, in Monferrato up to the northernmost areas of the region. The result is therefore not surprising: a wide range of Barbera wine.
Cascina Fontana produces a full-bodied wine, which can benefit and improve with aging. After fermentation, maturation, which takes place partly in used wooden barrels and partly in cement tanks, helps the wine to soften and adds a touch of elegance, diluting the natural and marked acidity, typical of this vine. After bottling, Barbera ages in the bottle for at least another 6 months before being put on the market.
Barbera obtained from vineyards located in the Barolo area has the ability to age and evolve for ten years and more, becoming rounder, softer and more complex over time.
Barbera can accompany dishes of appetizers, cold cuts, pasta dishes, roast meats and aged cheeses.
